After five great years with The Hold Steady, Franz Nicolay has decided to move on.  Franz is an extraordinary musician that brought a lot to our band and remains a good friend.  We wish Franz the best of luck in his future endeavors and thank him for his contributions and good times along the way.  It was truly a blast.

Order “Vs. the End of…”, a history of Lifter Puller at our webstore.

Lifter Puller was a band from Minneapolis. They existed in various line ups from 1994 to 2000. The band released three full length albums, one EP, and a number of singles. Band members Craig Finn and Tad Kubler went on to form The Hold Steady.

“Vs. the End Of…” is a 96 page book that details the history of Lifter Puller with photos, lyrics, and an oral history. The book comes with a download card that allows readers to download Lifter Puller’s full catalog.
